Review: The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, by Robert Louis Stevenson

I found this story quite hard to follow for the first half, but it picks up in a big way half way through, when Jekyll gets to explaining himself.
It’s one of the few books I’ve read where I struggled with the societal context of it. Many times throughout the book I was struck by words that were used in a way that indicated to me they didn’t mean the same thing anymore as what they used to.
The moral fable of it - the struggle between good and evil within oneself - is where it’s strongest. The specifics of how that morality manifests though, fall into a sort of uncanny valley for me as a modern reader.
Also big props for “If he is Mr Hyde then I shall be Mr Seek!”
