Review: Uno Rush, by Carbonated Games
This review was originally a series of tweets, which is why it is structured as it is.
This review was a part of my “Back Catalog” series in 2020, where I went back and achievement hunted in games that I had previously started, but not completed.
Next up on my #BackCatalog is Uno Rush, from all the way back in 2009!
Clearly, Uno is #BackIn
I had just 2 of its 12 achievements!
This is a 360 XBLA title. It has apparently been removed from the Store and is not on back compat
But I still have a 360! And it had Uno Rush installed and everything!
Hilariously there was an update pending for it, so apparently I haven’t played it in that long
It’s a pretty quick game and has a surprisingly nice twist on traditional Uno. I wasn’t expecting it to be so different from the real world card game
All hands are public and you play by ordering your hand to try to play multiple cards in sequence (you keep playing if you can)
You’re on a timer to play on of your turns, and that timer is super short (like 5 seconds), so you start looking at what other folks will play to order your hand correctly ahead of time to play more cards
Rules of whether you can play cards are like normal Uno. And it adds a new “shuffle” command card that shuffles the next player’s hand, which is fun when order matters!
I’ve picked up a few of the achievements so far and will grab some more today!
I would say I recommend it as a fun short game, but I don’t think you can buy it anymore
#BackCatalog
I have now succeeded in finding four 360 controllers to win the “4 player local multiplayer” achievement
It was looking dicey, but in the end I didn’t have to use a guitar
Even my completion time delta on Amalur pales in comparison… to Uno: Rush!
