Review: Injustice: Gods Among Us, by NetherRealm

This review was originally a series of tweets, which is why it is structured as it is.

This review was a part of my “Back Catalog” series in 2020, where I went back and achievement hunted in games that I had previously started, but not completed.

Next up on #BackCatalog is Injustice: Gods Among Us, the DC Universe fighting game from NetherRealm (the Mortal Kombat folks)

I played it back in 2013 and finished story mode, but left a bunch of achievements out. I was at 16/50

As you can tell from my Twitter and #BackCatalog so far, I’m a big fan of DC. Returning to Injustice, I’m finding it much more accessible because of transferable skills from Killer Instinct!

Honestly that tutorial has made such an enormous difference. I wouldn’t be able to enjoy Injustice as much without it, which I’d say is a big part of why I didn’t keep playing last time

There are some immensely satisfying moves in Injustice. I live for those finishers where Superman uppercuts someone out of the entire atmosphere

There’s a super innocuous looking achievement for “Completing battle mode” that has a TA ratio of more than 20, which is completely insane. My highest ratio achievement in any game is 9.3 (for completing an Iron Man run in Massive Chalice)

Of the 110,000+ folks TrueAchievement tracks that have Injustice… 260 people have that achievement.

I’ll probably skip that one.
